gSW Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy are experts in the diagnosis & treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction and Sports Injuries.

gSW is the brainchild of Simon William Smith (hence the SW - more on the g later). Simon has been working as a musculoskeletal [muhs-kyuh-loh-skel-i-tl] specialist in Yorkshire for 20 years. He qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Bradford in 1998, going on to undertake a Masters degree in Manual Therapy in 2005.

His drive, academic ability and most importantly, compassionate, personable, caring manner has seen him rise to the top of his profession. He continues to lead the discussion on the advancement of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, advocating for its importance in promoting health and wellbeing to society. He has developed courses in the specialist assessment and treatment of sporting and general musculoskeletal disorder; teaching other physiotherapists and General Practitioners, with the aim of spreading good practice.

Simon currently works for some of the week in Hull as an musculoskeletal Extended Scope Practitioner. One of those titles that only the NHS could dream up! In reality what it means is that when folk are struggling in pain, and the usual general practitioner or physiotherapy care is not resolving an issue, his role is to give specialist opinion, work out what needs to be done and get them back on track. It is this complex problem solving that really excites him.

With gSW Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and his other business Cycloform [a niche business aiming to help keen cyclists optimise there performance] taking up lots of time, Simon is a busy boy.

You know what they say about getting a job done...? Ask a busy person.

This is where the 'g' comes in. The g is for his gnome; she's there reminding him that although work is important, family comes first.
